According to Team Med Global President Donna Goestenkors, CPMSM®, EMSP, the model reflects the skill sets required of payer enrollment specialists who are at the top of their field. “Executive Provider Enrollment Professionals exhibit the expertise, effectiveness, and impact that deliver value to their organizations,” she said. “When all of the elements are in place, they are also able to maximize their career opportunities.”
The Executive Provider Enrollment Professional Competency Formula devised by Team Med Global is straightforward: Knowledge + Skill + Execution = Competence. “We define knowledge as the expertise that provider enrollment specialists use to maximize revenue,” said Goestenkors. “This includes everything from CAQH and delegation to government, commercial, and everything in between.” Goestenkors notes that a provider enrollment specialist’s skill is their personal effectiveness on the job, and incorporates everything from analytical thinking and relationship management to emotional intelligence and the ability to negotiate.
