Kim Williams, MBA, is an enthusiastic and valued TMG coach and credentialing subject matter expert. She was introduced to the Medical Staff Services world by her stepmom. She then created a five-year plan to move into management and worked the plan, investing in professional development and obtaining skills along the way. She worked as a credentialing assistant and credentialing specialist in a private practice, credentials verification organization, and medical staff office before obtaining her master’s degree and relocating to become a medical staff manager. As a younger MSP, it was difficult to find a leadership position, but Kim did not give up. She is passionate about education and enjoys sharing her knowledge with new MSPs.
The Lighter Side
In getting to know Kim, we discovered that she dreams of Bora Bora and the Maldives, loves deep conversations, and wants every person to know that they have a purpose.
When you’re not at work, what’s your favorite pastime?
I love to read and travel.
What makes your heart sing?
Hearing women take the knowledge I’ve shared, implement it in their lives, and come back to me with stories about how their lives have changed.
I love to travel so much that I have many dream vacation spots. Bora Bora and the Maldives are the dreamiest ones. They’re both exotic and luxurious locations. I can see myself now in an overwater villa.
What’s something that most people don’t know about you?
I thoroughly enjoy deep conversations.
Which historical figure do you most admire?
I most admire Oprah Winfrey for her courage to be the first African American woman to have her own television show and still impact the lives of people worldwide today.
What legacy do you want to leave the world?
I want to leave the world a legacy of knowing that everyone has purpose – regardless of where they come from or what they’ve been through.
What’s your most treasured childhood possession that you still have?
My most treasured childhood possession is a scrapbook because there are a bunch of memories in it. I get to look back on and see where I’ve come from.
When was the last time you had a good belly laugh?
I love to laugh. The other day I called one of our OB/GYNs and he answered the phone saying that he was tied up doing a delivery. It was his tone of voice and the way he actually answered the call that really tickled me.
