“It’s a wonderful life.” That’s the real message I want you to take from this blog, MSPs!
George Bailey didn’t realize the impact he had on his family and the community he lived and worked in until Clarence showed him the hard evidence. As soon as George saw the real difference he had made in his community and how he had influenced the lives of his family, friends, and neighbors, he ran home joyously to his family, ready to live his life in the present and with gratitude.
The same can be applied to you! Allow me to be your Clarence for just a moment.
Sometimes we as MSPs feel insignificant in this big world. We might feel taken for granted or unappreciated in our efforts toward patient safety. I’m here to assure you that you most certainly are appreciated every single day for all of the hard work you do. Every day, you share your time, knowledge, and patience with others in your field, and I want to say that what you do is making a big difference! Without your expertise and assistance, the health care industry would be in disarray and even more patients would be harmed.
As 2013 begins to wind down, my true hope this holiday season and for the upcoming year is you will take the lesson from this holiday movie – that you and all of your contributions really do matter – and apply it to your lives. I am so grateful for all of my clients and colleagues and honored that I know so many wonderful MSPs who are dedicated to what they do!
Happy holidays, everyone, and I hope to be working arm-in-arm with you in 2014! Today, tomorrow, and into the New Year, please continue to SMILE!
